Obamacare & Nazi Germany, revisited

My response to a survey asking if it’s “acceptable to compare your political opponents to Nazis or Hitler?”

“I have gotten in trouble several times comparing OBAMA to HITLER — for example, http://christiannoob.wordpress.com/2012/09/04/obamacare-nazi-germany/.
OBAMA and his cronies are systematically destroying the US and it’s scary that his sheep are willing to follow him to hell. It’s simply DISGUSTING.”

No sheep allowed to comment.

Really???? As a Jew I am upset with anyone who uses the words “nazi” or “Hitler” lightly. Comparing a very mild reform of the US healthcare system to nazi Germany is so illogical and off reality that I do not know where to start. Perhaps in this issue a meaningful discussion is simply not possible… we are just living in different planes of reality.

On the contrary, you taught me to use the words “Nazi” and “Hitler” carefully.
Hitler was the incarnation of evil — the (d)evil — and those around him made the Nazi Germany extremely dangerous.
The comparison’s is between Nazi Germany (1932) to Obama’s totalitarianism.

Well then. It seems that here we cannot have a discussion here. Go on and think that having a bloated health care system driven by for-profit companies giving sub-care health coverage at a cost that is multiple times higher than other industrialized nations is what freedom is all about (and having a lower life expectancy than Cuba too). And for sure, doing a very timid reform with the full consent of these for-profit corporations is akin to putting people in the gas chamber. And yes, this is a very unbiased view of reality.
In the meanwhile, I will keep enjoying Iceland’s single payer health care system (aka a “socialist” system), where I can have an emergency surgery (like I had in November) and not worry about payment, insurance, co-pays, bills…. yeah.. socialism sucks.
Here is a bit more about this. I am sure you will agree that nobody should suffer under this system:

You can’t compare the US to Iceland. Socialism works in some European countries and even in Canada, BUT the American mentality is too corrupted and greedy.

Many want everything for free. Many have become lazy and parasites, but that’s another story.

Big pharma-sponsored government is always eager to suck us dry. Politicians are more than happy to pass stupid laws that force little girls to be vaccinated for cervical cancer as well as giving lethal doses of mercury (Hg) to infants to make them safe from diseases that there’s little to no chance of ever being in contact with. For example, why’d a child be given vaccines for STD’s when the parents are clean? To make matters worse, if any of these vaccines and other drugs cause any harm to anyone (especially children), big pharma is completely immune to any legalities. In other words, there are no legal consequences for Big pharma if anyone dies due to faulty medicine (drugs).

Instead giving anyone a free ride, we should educate the populace and get rid of big pharma, which controls and manipulates the whole American health system (government, health insurance, the ignorant populace and most importantly drugs). It’s a miserable shame. This is what many refer to as the pussification of America.

        Joking aside, are you okay?

That is BS my friend. People are people, and are more or less as noble or as greedy as anywhere else. “Socialism” works in the US as well as in any other place (take for example the Veteran’s Administration health care system). The only difference I would say is that in the US there is this bizarre idea that government does not work and that “freedom” means letting everybody fend for themselves.

And I am fine… the operation was very minor.
