Egypt

For some reason, I feel I must write about the current events in Egypt although I prefer to keep myself away from any discussion that may seem offensive to other ideologies or faith systems. In any case, I don’t know about the social and/or political state of that country. All I know is that whatever happens in Egypt’s important worldwide for many reasons. Aside from the obvious political fear and mistrust of Muslim governments (similar to the paranoia of the propagation of communism during the Cold War, 1947–1991), Egypt shares the birth and foundation of the Coptic Church. From my limited understanding of religion and politics, I can conclude that any abrupt change in any branch of Church will affect other parts of it. As such, anything that may harm the Coptic Church will indeed affect the rest of Church.
