Shavuot

Decalogue parchment by Jekuthiel Sofer 1768 (Wikimedia)Today’s Shavuot — the Jewish celebration of the day that Moses received the Torah (first five books of the Old Testament) from God himself. For us (Christians), it’s the story of Moses receiving the Ten Commandments, which we don’t see as much a deal.

Said this, I still think that we (Christians) fail to recognize and/or have simply lost a lot of the traditions and meaning of the roots of our faith. Could it be that Christianity — as commonly practiced for the past two millennia or so — is flawed and incomplete by rejecting its roots in Judaism?
