The Christian Noob (n00b)

born & raised Catholic, now going to a Presbyterian church & still learning

a decade later, still terrified

I heard sirens during service this morning (not sure if police or ambulance). I just freaked out as I used to for the first years after 9/11. I guess I’m still afraid after all these years.

After 3.5 hours of church, I started feeling calm. The third hour was a multi-faith, multi-denominational service — my first experience ever in a Jewish and Muslim worship services.

Needless to say (type), the reality of some idiot blowing something up in NYC (especially) remains as true as it was a decade ago. I guess I’m still afraid after all the praying and tears. The horrors of that beautiful morning with a perfect deep blue sky (9/11/01) fucked up my mind so, so much.
