The Witch Epidemic by Hawk RunningWater

interesting reading…

“The craft is unique to each practitioner but if beginning Witches don’t start trying to learn for themselves, I am afraid that crafts will start to be more similar and similar and our flame of creativity will disappear.”

a brief quote to avoid law suits or craft sent my way (cheap joke), thanks Hawk

congressional autism hearings (11/29/2012) — no news coverage, not worth covering

Although the original ULC post is fairly old, I feel important to post the following information about the Congressional Autism Hearings that took place on November 29th, 2012.

National Autism Month — Help us Raise Awareness!
April is National Autism Awareness month, and the Universal Life Church Monastery needs your help to raise awareness of this very important cause. To help raise awareness of this issue, we have started a month-long Facebook campaign to donate to the National Autism Association. We invite you to visit our Facebook Page — and to please share this page with your friends so we can help this issue reach a larger audience.

C-SPAN covered the hearing as they usually cover all government hearings, sessions and/or other events by the federal government. It’s a pity, angering and disturbing that no mainstream media cared to cover the hearing. Neither the liberal commonly supporters of the Obama administration like CNN nor the conservative press commonly against the administration like Fox News failed to mention this story. It seems that this sort of news don’t bring ratings and, as such, they are not worth covering.

Representatives for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) — so-called experts in the field of autism — could not respond some of the questions by members of the US Congress. The NIH even refused to answer some of these questions with the excuse that the information requested was not in hand at the moment.

“We have actually done a number of studies looking at the relationship between thimerosal vaccines and autism and other developmental disabilities…”

“So clearly, definitely, unequivocally, you have studied vaccinated versus unvaccinated?”

“We have not studied vaccinated versus unvaccinated.”

“Never mind. Stop there. That was the meaning of my question. You wasted two minutes of my time.”

The latter behavior makes us all believe that, in fact, the federal government is hiding knowledge about this medical disorder that affects 1 in 88 children. Of course, these numbers do not tell the whole story. No one mentions how many of these children are becoming adults and the quality of life of these adults.

You can watch the hearing by clicking the following links.

In my opinion, it seems that the NIH was ridiculed, but the NIH will save face somehow and autistic kids will be left in the cold as usual.
