psychotic for Lenten, day 31

ashes to ashes, dust to dustToday’s devotional comes from another letter sent to the Church in Rome (Romans 8:28-39).

“28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:28-39 KJV)

Yet, in this season of Lent in which we must look within our pitiful souls, sometimes a joke can make more sense than Word of God written and rewritten millions of times with minor error here and there simply corrupting what we hold as our faith. This is the main reason why Muslims don’t allow translation of the Qur’an — to avoid contamination (errors & corruption).

God Worried He Fucked Up His Children
THE HEAVENS–Saying that maybe He wasn’t around enough and could have expressed His divine love a little better throughout the history of mankind, Our Lord God and Almighty Father expressed concern Thursday that He might have fucked up His children.
In a frank conversation with reporters, God said it’s not hard to see that all 7 billion of His children are ‘pretty screwed up’ and that many of them are hopelessly maladjusted and unfit to live healthy, normal lives.
‘I love my sons and daughters equally, but was I present as much as I could have been? Probably not,’ said the Divine Creator, pointing to the human race’s emotional volatility, existential angst, and lack of any real direction as evidence of His failure. ‘Ever since I molded them in my image, I’ve tried to do right by them. I really have. But they’re just so dysfunctional that I’m starting to wonder if I’m to blame.”,31597/

By the way, a new pope was elected this past Wednesday. The process of election (conclave) felt too rushed, but who am I to know and/or understand? Once again, comedy strikes our impatient funny bone.

Pope Insanity MXLV Selected
VATICAN CITY–Following the ceremonial rising of the white smoke and pealing of the St. Peter’s Basilica bells earlier this afternoon, black clouds suddenly darkened the Vatican City sky as Catholic Church officials announced that the College of Cardinals had ended their two-day session and selected Pope Insanity MXLV.
Moments after the announcement, the newly named Pope Insanity MXLV abruptly materialized on the St. Peter’s balcony to an applauding crowd gathered below, and then raised his arms and emitted a piercing, high-pitched shriek as blood streamed down his forehead and thick smoke swirled around his body.”,31656/

Pope Francis (Jorge Mario Bergoglio)All joking aside, a new pope was elected. He’s the first non-European ever, an Argentinian with an Italian surname (maybe to compensate). His full name’s Jorge Mario Bergoglio, but he’s adopted the name of Pope Francis. So far, this man’s reputation makes him a trouble-maker to old-tradition clergy who tend to abuse minor or cover up such crimes, but he does have other skeletons in his closet like

  1. involvement in 1976 abductions,
  2. atrocities performed during Argentina’s period of military rule from 1976-1983
  3. and opposition to gay marriage & gay adoption.

In any case, this is the man who’ll lead, corrupt and decay the Church for the rest of his natural life. I’ve got no clue how this one man will affect my decaying faith. After all, I left the Church that this man now leads.
