rants: out geek your friends carrying your favorite MS Windows applications with you at all time in an USB device
I came across PortableApps. You choose the application you want, download the .exe installer and run it without admin rights unto a subdirectory of your choice.
I’d recommend getting the Platform application, which works as a menu for your applications and even gives you an up-to-date list of applications to choose from. The program even installs them for you and displays them in its menu. Take a look at my menu so far (on the right).
I installed BPBible that I need to learn how to use and Gramps that I’m using to make my family tree.
I must say that some applications have been stripped of some bells and whistles, but they work like a charm.
As a form of disclaimer, I must emphasize I don’t promote and/or endorse any program and/or system even if I use it all the time.
