rants: the sin of homosexuality

my response to a post in Mylook online

“Homosexuality as a form of sex for the sake of sex is wrong if there’s an element of aggression/assault against another human being — like rape.

Homosexuality as whom a person is attracted to is something a person can’t control.

How many men have fallen in love with the wrong woman? How many women have fallen for the wrong man? The answer is many. Now would this be categorized as a sin?

A friend of mine (Tim) just got married. If I hadn’t seen his Facebook post, I wouldn’t have know he had gotten married. If I hadn’t read that his spouse has a male name, I’d have never known he is gay. Does this make him a bad person? I don’t think so. He’s actually staff at the church I go to and does his job well. By the way, this friend of mine is a Christian raised Anglican.”

regardless of the possible misinterpretations of Leviticus 18:22, 13 (Holiness code)

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22, KJV)

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” (Leviticus 20:13, KJV)

like it or not, homosexuality will exist, it won’t disappear by just mere act of law, the difference is whether it surfaces or is ‘underground’ !
